The Student Dialogue organized by MyAeroSatu recently aimed to inspire and engage with young people to explore careers in STEM (stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), aviation and aerospace to support and encourage their future career choices. We help to keep the skies above us in the world safe. As veteran airline professionals, we support the government to make sure people who fly all sorts of aircraft, including planes, drones, hot air balloons, helicopters, even rockets are trained and follow important safety rules and regulations. We believe aviation and aerospace needs to be ready for the future and need different talent, ideas and values to make that happen. We are committed to supporting the ambitions & interests of our students.

During discussions with the students from various universities who participated in the event, one of the panelists, Datuk Zulkarnain Mohamed, Deputy President of Malaysian Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA), revealed that “Top roles for new graduates include becoming mechanical & production engineers, technical application engineers, and trainees in accelerated programs for mechanics & engine maintenance. Numerous internships & sponsored training for 18-35 year old are available via TalentCorps Malaysia, and companies like MAG, Airbus, GE Aerospace & MRO companies.” (www.maia.my)

As a former Senior Manager of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Academy, I shared with the students that “Future-ready careers in aerospace are shifting from traditional mechanical roles toward a multi-layered eco-system defined by digital transformation, sustainability & space commercialization. By 2030, the industry will prioritize high-skill, technology-intensive positions over manual functions. In-demand will be digital expertise, Industry 5.0 systems thinking.”
